A Streetcar Named Desire - Poster Illustration
The illustration was my response to reading the script for the play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams. The goal was to create an engaging poster for the play that was clear and unique in style. To achieve the style I first photographed the model, printed the image out, crumbled the sheet of paper, soaked the wrinkled image in soap and water, placed it on a light box, and finally layered wet pieces of brown paper towel. I found that the best way to overexpose the background was to take the photograph right as the light box turned on to give the image that whiteout look.
